If you love the raw wood look, we recommend sealing your piece with Finishing Wax in Clear from our sister company, Jolie Home. The Finishing Wax will seal and protect your piece from scuffs and stains, ensuring you can enjoy it for years to come.
A small Finishing Wax and Jolie Wax Brush are included with the purchase of each AVE Raw piece to make application and touch-ups easy. Jolie Finishing Wax has a soft consistency, no odor, and is easy to apply. Best of all, it dries clear and won’t change the tone of your wood.
To apply, simply brush on the wax, working in small sections, and wipe back the excess with a soft, lint-free cloth. The wax should feel dry to the touch in 1-2 hours and will fully cure in approximately two weeks. If you ever find your piece in need of a refresh, simply apply another coat of wax.
In addition to their best-selling clear wax, Jolie Home also offers their Finishing Wax in white, brown, and black, along with a range of paints, topcoats and embellishment products that work great with our AVE Raw line. For more information on Jolie products, visit JolieHome.com and be sure to check out their How to Use page for helpful product guides and tutorials.
PROJECT INSPIRATION
from the Ave Home Community
We love seeing the creative ways our community incorporates AVE Raw pieces into their design projects. Below we've rounded up some of our favorites to get your creative wheels turning.
First up are some projects where pieces have been left in their raw wood state. As mentioned above, if you like the raw wood look, we do recommend applying Jolie Finishing Wax to seal and protect your piece.

Next, we have some projects where AVE Raw pieces have been customized using paints, stains, and colored finishing waxes. Jolie's furniture paint line is our go-to for painted finishes. Keep in mind that water-based products will likely raise the wood grain slightly, so you will want to sand between coats. For additional tips on painting furniture, we recommend checking out Jolie's Everyday Guide.
